"I believe the best social program is a job." - Ronald Reagan
Our 40th President was such a master communicator. he could capture what we think in such simple to understand phrases.
Join us and be part of the solution.
The problem is too many of Maine's politically connected make their living off exploiting the poor and keeping them dependent on government. They are constantly in Augusta with a hand out claiming to be for the poor, when in reality they are there to protect their own jobs as well paid "champions" of the poor.
Here in Maine, out of control welfare spending has become a major talking point in Maine politics. Many lawmakers including the Governor have called for sweeping changes to the States entitlement program.
Maine Citizens Coalition invites you to join the discussion with some of Maine's most powerful movers and shakers.
The other side is already working the Politicians in Augusta. Join us to learn how those of us who work can make a difference in passing this vital Legislation. This is the year to get this done, but it cannot be done without grassroots support.
Regardless of how much time you have, you involvement will make the difference.
Speakers at this event; Senator Eric Brakey, Chairman of the Joint Standing Committee on Health and Human Services, Representative Jeff Timberlake, member of the Joint Standing Committee on Appropriations and Financial Affairs, and Mayor Robert MacDonald, Mayor of Lewiston.
